Kate has been down on the largest living organism on Earth.

We have now both qualified as Advanced Open Water Divers, courtesy of Ivan (Divin' Ivan) Zeljko.
We've both logged a total of about 6 hours at the bottom of the ocean, including two dives on the wreck of the SS Yongala, that sunk in 1911.
The scenery under there is amazing, with:
  • sea turtles
  • sea snakes
  • sharks
  • big fish
  • little fish
  • (cardboard box)
and tons and tons of coral, covering the wreck completely. Some of the fish were bigger than me! (awaits short-person joke ;) ).
Divin' Ivan was a great instructor with over 6000 dives of experience, a jarring laugh, and an endless amount of really poor crude jokes :D

We're in Cairns now, but we haven't really achieved much aside from getting our hair cut and visiting the internet cafe.
The city is a little bit delapidated, the city centre area is nice, but very quiet even on a Saturday, probably due to everyone having air-conditioning and wanting to stay indoors when it's so hot out (it's currently 33 degrees).

Sorry to everyone having a really really cold winter back home in England, we'll feel your pain when we have to return.
