What Katie Did Next

Today we went into the mall and outside a store there was a big blow-up Santa, so I skipped up to him and punched him in the groin.

Bums and tiddles

Hey ho.

We're currently in Brisbane (arrived yesterday) after a wicked time with Oz Experience so far. Sydney is one of my favourite cities so far - I did the bridge climb, and we went to the Opera House to see a Shakespeare play as Andy mentioned. Was a brilliant modern reworking. We also spent some time at the botanic gardens and the pubs near The Rocks. We also got taken around by Jake who we met in Canada, and he took us (via ferry) to Millson's Point (where Luna Park is - the permanent funfair requested by the public in return for putting up with the construction of the bridge!), Watson's Bay and Manly Beach (unfortunately it was peeing down there!). We also hung out with Elisha who lives in Sydney, who we also met in Canada. Ooh, and we painted thongs (as in the ones you wear on your feet :P) as part of a 'Thonglines' exhibition that involves painting a thong with images of your bloodline so it can be stapled to more thongs forming a snail-like pattern in the square as a kind of installation. All in all, Sydney rocked.

In Barrington we went Night Water Rafting - white water rafting in the pitch black! We had small headlamps but you could hardly see anything. It was a brilliant experience - adrenaline all round! In Bingara we went horse riding, but proper horse riding at last - cantering through rivers and the like, heheh.

We stopped off at Byron Bay for a few days and learnt to surf (though I got a bit stressy with the waves and was a bit reluctant to stand up, tsh), which was fun. The beach was soooo nice, and we're tanned again already! Saw some funny bubbly looking jelly fish on the beach - like little drops of water, weird. Those ones aren't dangerous though. *crosses fingers she won't encounter a box jellyfish* On a rainforest hike yesterday we saw a brown snake, which are quite deadly, erk. Ah well, got to put up with it in order to have a good time, innit! I also got boob-slapped by a wave again, though I'm starting to enjoy it now.

Ooh, shops...
